One of the most popular sites in the UK as well as Europe, VC Poker is a great place for both new and experienced players. Software and Interface/Usability
The VC Poker lobby is fairly straightforward and basic, with an expandable menu to look for cash games and tournaments, and a central list of available games. There is a filter feature available, as well as the ability to hide full tables. Buttons for the cashier, account information, and options are available across the bottom of the screen, as well as a buddy list to help you keep track of your favorite fishies.
The table view is rather large, but the nice big cards and chip counts make it easy to keep track of the action while multi-tabling. There are several avatars to choose from, and an adjustable chat window on the right with options to turn off dealer chatter. Unfortunately, the tables are not resizeable, but there is a mini-view which effectively makes the table display much smaller by eliminating avatars and condensing other features, including the chat window. There is a hand history option, and although the replayer doesn't include any text, you can have the hand histories saved to your hard drive for review later.
One of the strong points about the software is the player statistics. You can track a wide variety of your own statistics, including flops seen, percentage of hands called vs raised, pots won at showdown, and a number of other useful data points. Stats can also be filtered by game type and number of players, so you can look at your 6-max stats even if you also play full ring games.
Game Types, Action, and Difficulty
VC Poker offers a decent variety of games, including Hold'em (limit, NL, PL) Omaha and Omaha H/L (limit and PL), and 5/7 card Stud (limit).
Cash Games
VC Poker's cash game scene benefits from being on the iPoker network – there is always action at the cash game tables. At peak times, there can be in excess of 1,000 active tables at a wide range of stakes, from $.01/$.02 up to $100/$200. Much like other sites, No-Limit Hold'em is the most popular of their games, although tables can still be found for Omaha and Stud games.
Sit & Go Tournaments

Friday features a $75+$7.50 rebuy tournament with a $150,000 guarantee, with plenty of satellites to get there. VC Poker's Sunday major tournament is a $200+$15 freezout with a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool, which stands up well in comparison to Sunday majors on other well known sites.
VC Poker also offers several special events, including the European Championship of Online Poker III (ECOOP 3). Players can also win packages to live tournaments like the Prague Poker Palooza II, the Irish Winter Festival, and several GUKPT events.
Player Base and Action
